Feeling blessed

"When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around."

Everyone who is religious or Spiritual knows all about blessings. Blessings come in all forms. We feel blessed by family and friends, our health, and any other good fortune that comes our way. Every day I feel blessed to wake up to another opportunity to experience life to the fullest. Feeling blessed is the ultimate form of gratitude toward the Divine. It's our way of acknowledging the unseen Force that plays a hidden role in creating our experience here on Earth.

Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of the bright side of life, especially when we find ourselves confronted with roadblocks and setbacks. It can be much easier to feel like we have been cursed or fell victim to just plain bad luck. That was my mentality in my past. I preferred the whole "woe is me" routine. I was allowing life to happen to me instead of creating a better life for myself. I had to go through a lot of hard times, but I now realize how those really tough times paved the way for me to create that better life I was craving deep down inside of me.

I now see those dark moments and situations in my past as lessons and blessings. They created a solid foundation for me to learn and grow from my mistakes and misguided actions from the past. I took all of those stumbling blocks and started building a staircase to a better future where I call the shots. I was ready to start letting life happen for me instead of to me. I started counting my blessings more and being grateful for my dark past. Some of the hardest lessons I learned were some the most powerful ones.

I am grateful for the self-awareness that provided me the insight and wisdom to understand that sometimes setbacks are simply clearing the way for a better future. We just don't know it yet since we are busy dealing with the BS that has to come first. Now that I look at life through the lens of a growth mindset, the setbacks are simply lessons to be learned and blessings to be felt. Can you think of any circumstances from your past where you felt cursed, but it turned out to be a big blessing instead?
